Getting to the start of the walk

Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, the start of the walk, are linked by bus from the nearby City of Ripon (approx 4 miles away). For details of all buses to Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey please call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

There is a downloadable leaflet on The Ripon Roweller bus service here but please be aware that this may be subject to change so the best advice is to check. The Ripon Roweller 139 service runs Monday - Saturday throughout the year. Call 01423 526655 for details or visit Dales Bus.

To reach Studley Royal from Ripon it's also possible to take a taxi from the Market Square (approx 4 miles each way).

Studley Royal Lakeside car park has a £8 charge for the whole day but is free for National Trust members. At the time of writing, subject to change. If you are using satnav to find your way to the car park the postcode HG4 3AY will get you to the correct vehicular entrance to the Deer Park to find your way to the car park.
